Melissa's update

Monday, August 21, 2006

you may be aware that I completed my first marathon this past January. I have decided to run Disney Marathon on January 7, 2007 but this time I am going to run with Team In Training. The purpose of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training campaign is to accelerate research funding so a cure can be discovered as soon as possible so a cure can be found and all blood cancers can be a thing of the past.

I’m sure that each of you, like me, think of special people who have fought courageously and live as survivors of leukemia or cancer… but you may also think, as I do, of someone very special who lost that fight at an age that was far too young. Help, by sponsoring me on this marathon, do our part to help eradicate these diseases… maybe even in our lifetime! More than 747,000 Americans have leukemia, Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin lymphoma, or myeloma. I am running honor of my friend Sara’s husband Paul Linartas. I am also running in memory my friends from college Jennifer Knapper Baker who recently lost her battle with Leukemia.

My goal is to raise $2500 by November 30, 2006. Although I can continue to raise funds after that date, I would like to concentrate on my training. Any amount you can contribute will be greatly appreciated (all donations are 100% tax deductible). I’ve included a donor form and a self addressed stamped envelope that you can use to contribute or you can donate online by going to my personal TNT website at http://www.active.com/donate/tntcfl/mneubauer This website will also have periodic updates on my training and fundraising.

Thank you in advance for your help and support!
